As stated within documents from the National Cursillo Center, “The Diocesan Secretariat is composed of clergy and laity, men and women. The whole Secretariat is entrusted by the Bishop with the responsibility of promoting, developing and directing the Cursillo Movement in a diocese”.

The Spiritual Advisor oversees the spiritual needs of the Cursillo Movement as a member of the clergy and is appointed by the Bishop of Memphis and is the liaison between the movement and the diocese.

Lay Director: David Hall (2022-2024)

The Lay Director is the lay person who is the leader of the Cursillo in a diocese.  This person presides over all Secretariat meetings, gives a yearly report to the bishop, and insures the use of the guidelines of the National Cursillo Movement in the Precursillo, 3-Day Cursillo and Postcursillo.

Responsible for the overall coordination of the Spanish Cursillo Movement, works with the Lay Director to ensure consistency within the Cursillo Movement of the Diocese of Memphis.

This chairperson works with the candidates, sponsors and Parish Reps before the Cursillo weekend to answer any questions about the application process and the weekend itself to insure that after the weekend, the candidate has a smooth transition to their 4th Day.

The 3 Day team ensures that everything is in place for the weekend to happen. This includes selecting and forming the team (team members come from the School of Leaders) and ensuring that the atmosphere during the weekend provides the candidates a chance to encounter Christ.

This person helps the Cursillistas in the diocese grow in their 4th Day to ensure that the Ultreyas are a lively reunion of all the Group Reunions and/or a place where people can find a Group Reunion to join.

This chairperson ensures that the School of Leaders provides an ongoing opportunity for Cursillistas to grow spiritually, to learn about the Cursillo method and to help in the work of the Precursillo, 3-Day Cursillo, and Postcursillo.

This person handles the financial aspects of the Cursillo Movement to ensure that we have enough money for our Cursillo weekends along with paying our regional and national fees.

This person keeps the minutes for all Secretariat meetings and sends out Cursillo related cards and correspondence as needed.
